Venetian Plaster

Venetian plaster is a traditional building material that originated in ancient Rome but gained prominence during the Renaissance period in Venice, Italy, hence the name. It's a decorative plaster technique that creates a smooth, polished surface with a marble-like appearance.

Made from a mix of slaked lime, marble dust, and natural pigments, Venetian plaster is applied in multiple thin layers using a trowel. Each layer is burnished to achieve a smooth and glossy finish. The technique allows for a range of effects, from subtle textures to bold patterns, depending on the application method, making it a popular choice for high-end residential and commercial projects alike.
